John, same here mate, I also have a collection of photographs with the butterfly close and central in the frame taken last year :-)

Like you, this year I'm trying to create more artistic photographs showing habitats and various angles etc.

I'll post one or two when I get home from work!

I dont know if I am just unlucky, but I have yet to see a butterfly this year. Usually see a small tortoiseshell by now.

I am up north so I would imagine that sightings would be somewhat later here than further south.

(not to mention weather has been terrible here all march)

Excellent, didnt realise you could do it like that, thought it would put the full sized image in there :-) Hopefully this year I'll get a decent collection of photos and possibly make use of the Gallery feature. Yeh that photo needs a bit more depth of field, I still find it very difficult balancing...

Here's a nice Peacock I found last year, its quite a large image mind.
