Jack, if you look in the General look for Paul he has got a very odd moth trap along the same idea as you are saying in this thread, although his is a bit iffy and as we haven't heard from him for a while, things might have got a bit pear shaped

Re: Has anyone got a Sony DSLR A200?
Excuse me Gruditch while I have a word with Eccles. I have printed both the descriptions on both cameras A200 and A350 and a review said how good the A200 but it has no Live View. Another thing it said was a little bright for portraits- however, you can change settings in the camera to compensate fo...

Re: Not Lepidoptera (Birds) - 2
Very nice Eccles, the birds look very realistic. Now, are you saying that you have two lens on the camera and if so, why two? Would you have the camera on a tripod or are you on your knee's.

A Sony A700 now I've got the lens to go with it. Eccles has made green with envy with his wonderful photos. If Santa is listening.

My thanks to Pete for his extremly kind words towards my photo and to that person who very kindly voted for me, good taste indeed :D , just for the record they are not twigs in the photo, they are 'poo sticks' .  I think 'Ham' would have made an excellent choice of a sort of judge. I did ...

I mentioned it to Gary but nothing happened, I did suggest someone. An expert in photography but doesn't enter in the competitions, the perfect choice.

You might have to declare it at the airport! Can you imagine if a custom's officer took the lid off to see what it was like, could clear the entire airport, even make the news 'SUBSTANCE FOUND IN TIN'.

Re: Has anyone got a Sony DSLR A200?
Why buying say a Canon, Nikon or Sony, do the lens from all these cameras fit each other, like the Tamron seems to fit everything and the Sigma. So I seem to be looking for the cheapest camera but the lens will cost that much more.

Re: Has anyone got a Sony DSLR A200?
There's quite a few offers on the camera but with the Tamron lens you have mentioned is it a Macro lens, or one I can take birds. Funnily enough I have an old magazine Feb 08 and it features the Tamron range of lenses, it mentions the17-300mm @£120, the 55-200mm @ £125, those are Macro the Zoom ones...

Re: Not Lepidoptera (Birds)
Nice to have more photos Eccles thought you'd emigrated somewhere. I think the bird from the top is a female Stonechat we get a lot of them along the cliff paths. Nice Egret, is that a little one or a cattle one? We are having a nice sunny day to-day.

Re: Butterflies and ants
My first search for the Holly Blue Pupa, woodlice, snails, a tiny red anty thing and stupid me I put my finger in a crevice and a mouse popped out, I nearly wet me self  , the inside bark of the hawthorn tree where the ivy is, is exactly the same colour as the pupa.
