Re: Natural Phenomena

Going over the mountains towards Bala, your right on top of the moors, there is nothing blocking the signal you can see for miles so why is there no signal, it give me the creeps your miles from even the nearest farm house so if you break down ugh, the phone is dead, why :?:

Re: Good sites

Hello Pete, I've sent to the local recorder all my sightings and he has acknowledge the email. What I meant is when you see a map with the BC and work is going on here and there, no work is being done on the Lleyn. When you say sites, do you mean that someone has given land to the BC and they work o...

Things are looking up in the garden, I heard a Bee and then saw this lovely Ladybird, maybe next thing to see will be a Butterfly.

Re: Good sites

What about the Lleyn Peninsula, handy for a week-end. There are no offical sites as the Butterfly Conservation don't include the Pen Llyn for anything, on their map we are blank but there is lots out here, for example Common Blues, Walls, Greylings and I've noticed as I drove down to Aberdaron on th...

Re: Not Lepidoptera (Birds) - 3

Next to the new marina in Pwllheli is an area when the tide goes out its a sort of mud flat, you can't say its sand but the waders and the sea birds love it, to-day even though it was a lovely day the light was almost too bright. There were a lot of Redshanks, it was a bit of a struggle with a 'comp...

Re: Who can supply the butterflies specimens for me?

Perhaps you like to ask the same question to the British Butterfly conservation Society, I'm sure they will give you an appropriate answer. This website and the B.B.C. is to preserve butterflies in the wild so everyone can enjoy them, NOT to preserve them under a piece of plastic. :twisted...

Bramblings and Grey Wagtails are one of my favourite birds and these two photos are brilliant, lovely colours with both of them. If you have any more bring them on. :D

Lambency diffuser

I saw the most beautiful photo of a Painted Lady on the website Wild about Britain, a Lambency diffuser was used. Does anyone know exactly what a diffuser is and how to use it?
Thanks Shirley

Re: Not Lepidoptera (Birds) - 3

Very nice photos of a Jay, always wanted to get a photo of those myself but their so quick and timid. Such bright colours, after all the feed I've been putting out for the birds a rotton sparrowhawk shot through the garden having caught a Blackbird. :(

Re: Hi All

Hello Ina, I hope you find this website interesting, over the winter months we have been sending bird photos in and I'm sure you'll find that thread enjoyable, the sighting of the first butterflies is a bit thin on the ground at the moment. Any questions on photography, they'll surely have the answe...

Re: My pet Peacock

I too have a hibinating Small Tortoishell in between the sliding windows in an upstairs room, there is no central heating so it should be alright, it did wake up some time ago and had a little flutter round then settled down again.

Re: Not Lepidoptera (Birds) - 3

Thanks Eccles, I lower the gamma setting and it worked. I brought my computor downstairs so my Dad could see the photos and I've just got a web cam so he can see his great grandson, I've very pleased with the colour now, thank you very much.

Re: Not Lepidoptera (Birds) - 3

Another Blue Tit, I have a most odd problem, yesterday I bought a wide 22inch screen monitor and all the colours of my photos are very pale even this website is extremly pale, I've been trying to brighten things up in settings but it only work for the main screen, the white is too bright. Very odd. ...
