A four hour+ session yesterday afternoon was had (2 local Kent areas) target species were Dingys an Grizzlies (very low numbers seen!) but by the time i arrived at the 1st location, the sun was already starting to hide behind the clouds! Nothing sighted, so on to the 2nd location - just 3 Dingys, an...

Re: April 2024

Target species were Green Hairstreak, an the 1st location produced 5 of the little green jewels. Those Green Hairstreak photos are too good for words TM. If I had taken those I would have run around the field with my shirt over my head and taken a booking for throwing my shirt in to the crowd after...

Re: April 2024

An extra long hibernation for me!!! mainly due to poor weather conditions...but overall, a very slow start for my 2024 butterfly season. After many years of sighting Orange Tips generally fly through my garden, maybe land for a few seconds, but fly off before i get a chance to take any photos, my lu...

Re: December 2023

Friday was quite warm here in Kent, i would think beyond 10 Degrees. As a result, 2 Red Admirals were seen on the wing (but no photos captured!). The 1st was seen from my landing window, it flew over the neighbours fence, an was gone. Time approx 10.00am. Then at approx 1.00pm (at work) another was ...

Re: Panasonic Lumix FZ330

Hi Nick, at least you gave it a go mate. If i were you, i would try to find a hardly used, minty fresh, low shutter count FZ150. "Fleabay" (or other sites for 2ndhand gear) could be an ideal place to find such a camera?? You know the workings of your favoured FZ150 very well, so sometimes ...

Re: Panasonic Lumix FZ330

Thank you so much for the details of all the settings you have found to be best. I ended up sending the camera to Panasonic's recognised repairers after I phoned them last Tuesday. They had me check various settings and then said they had run out of solutions, so I was to send it in. Hopefully I wi...

Re: Panasonic Lumix FZ330

Hi Nick, well, you cant really argue with the comparison pics hey! After some searching, i found my smashed FZ330...put a battery in it, an it did power up, but no control over anything on the camera!!! I checked on-screen icons, my focus point was set to center of screen, an i had enlarged focal po...

Re: Panasonic Lumix FZ330

Hi Nick, sorry you are having problems with the Panny FZ330/300. Some very good points/suggestions have already been made in this thread, which covers most of the suggestions i would make. Its true, like anything "man made" there can be quality control issues with camera gear, an the FZ330...

Re: September 2023

...What really caught my eye was a few stunning "Lemon Fresh" Green-veined Whites. In the strong sunlight, the yellow on these GVW's was absolutely amazing! Im not sure ive seen such yellow beauties like these before. Beautiful, Paul. The image of the mating pair really shows how yellow t...

Re: September 2023

Just like Allan, ive seen some very yellow Summer brood Green-veined Whites recently!! I also thought a few times, that in the distance, i could be looking at a Helice CY...but it was not to be, just GVW's...but what beauties they are.
