A few more that I would clarification for please. After my last attempt at identifying skippers I'm not sure I want to try these but is one of these shots of an Essex Skipper. Also, I think there is an Adonis Blue shot here (it's not a Chalkhill, having seen it fly away and too many 'stripes' for a ...

Re: Blue?

Thanks for the replies - not sure if there are any Chalkhill sites locally, Pete. Certainly none within say 5 miles or so. Was thinking it could be a Common Blue (really didn't know though) but only ever seen a Holly Blue in the garden before (and its not one of those).

Thanks again

Re: Pewley Down - Guildford

Hi

Went to Pewley Down on Saturday at about 6.45 (ie a bit late in the day). There were a lot of Chalkhills around even at that time so I assume there would be even more earlier in the day. There should be a few Adonis about but not sure I saw any.

Hope that helps

Blue?

This one was photographed in our garden today. Only managed to get three shots of the underside but am undecided which Blue it could be. Can someone help please.

Thanks

Paul

PS Sorry about the picture quality

Please can someone help with these, thanks

A few to ID please. I think I know what they are but would be grateful if someone can confirm, thanks (I am assuming they are Silver-spotted Skipper, Large white and Silver-washed Fritillary but am unsure about the blues - is there a Brown Argus there?)

Thanks

Yellow for id please and advice

Please can someone confirm these photos as being of a clouded yellow. I am sure they are not of a pale clouded yellow (or a Berger's) but how does one tell the difference if you only get a sighting of the underside?

Thanks

Silver Y ?

Had two of these in our Hampshire garden today and saw upwards of 30 of them at Bentley Station Meadow. Are they Silver Ys?

Hairstreak ? (White Letter ?)

Anyone any idea on this one please. It (to me anyway) looks like the upper wings of a White-letter but I've no idea really. It was taken in August a couple of years ago.

Thanks

Paul
