Speckled Wood colour variation

When we were on holiday in Cornwall we saw lots of Speckled woods, most of them looked to be more chestnut in colour than the ones up here in Yorkshire which are more brown, any thoughts anyone.
thanks

Re: Clouded yellow identification.

I took these two pictures at the Carnon Vally nature reserve near Truro in Cornwall earlier this month whilst on holiday, are they clouded yellow?

Fairly sure they are, but not having seen any before would like your opinion.

Re: The most unusual, local or rare Butterfly in your garden

I have a small garden on the outskirts of a small town in East Yorkshire, this year I have had dozens of Peacocks, a Comma and a couple of small tortoiseshells, the odd one for me is the Holly Blue it flew around the garden then left without landing :(

Re: Sites in Cornwall

Hi Matsukaze,

Thanks very much for your reply, I have made notes of the sites that you suggest, St Ives is a favourite place so will definitely be looking there, we have very little variety of species around where i live so would love to get a few more :D :D
