Hi I was in Woodbridge Suffolk the other week when I came across these two Skippers. I think the one on the right is an Essex Skipper.

It was a hot afternoon on the last day of June and the sun was a demon
I took Red for a walk in a hot Sefton park and I found a Red Admiral
It was tatted and torn a bit battered and warn but still flying strong
I waited for it to land and with camera in hand I got some photos

Saw my first butterfly of the year today a Peacock it flew past me as I was walking the dog. We were at Otterspool promenade Liverpool.

Hi Peterc I saw that as well but was not sure it was a aberrant. I saw the same butterfly again yesterday along with 2 Small Tortoiseshell 1 Peacock 1 Comma 8 Small White (that did not stop) and about 10 Red Admirals but best of all a Painted Lady. Hi all
At lunchtime (armed with a camera) I went back to the site I found yesterday at the back of the Adelphi hotel and found a Red Admiral with a white spot on the red bands on the fore wings.

Hi all I was working in town today and went for a walk at lunchtime and found some wasteland at the back of the Adelphi hotel. Today I was working on my allotment when a Green-veined White flew very close past my. I also saw three Comma’s fly past me as well. I left my camera at home so no photos. PS my allotment is at Allerton Liverpool.

I went for a walk along Oglet shore and saw two Small Tortoiseshell’s one Comma and a Peacock. I also saw a small Common Lizard basking in the sun quite close to the Peacock butterfly.

Hi David M I dont think I disturbed the Peacock. I keep the firewood at the side of the house and the cat found the butterfly about 30feet away in the middle. of the garden.

I was in my back garden getting some firewood when I saw our cat chase and catch something when I looked saw that it was a Peacock butterfly. I rescued it from the cat and put it in a safe place in the woodshed. I got a photo of it on my phone. Have a great christmas and a happy new year.

I saw my first butterflies of 2012 today. The first one was a Small Tortoiseshell seen at Oglet shore Speke near Liverpool the second was a Peacock in my back garden. I was well pleased and Iv got frogs in my pond.

This is the best photo I have of a Small Blue (not very good) It is also the first that I have ever seen. I went to Kenfig in south Wales to find then.
