holiday in Corralejo, Fuerteventura

First of all i would like to thank my wife for making this possible, because i was out everyday with my camera but two. The migrant waders only needed a couple of hours on three trips to photograph. The local bird and insect life however was a lot harder and needed daily trips of 3 1/2 - 4 hours. Al...

Re: How do u add photo to Message

Hi Caroline

you have to cut your pictures down so they are less than 512kb, i normally cut my pictures down to between 450 and 600 pixels, so the kb are less than 512.

then do as i said earlier. hope that helps. [always preview before you submit anything]

Re: Green Hairstreak - Favourite Photo of 2011

I don`t care if this is supposed to be a Green Hairstreak favourite photo, i`m playing hideandseek, and if that silly sod behind the camera does`nt clear off soon they will know where i am. "Go on, ..... bugger off".

This is my favourite picture, its not anywhere as good as the photo`s above. But the poor thing looks in shock having seen me, and seems to be saying," what the hell is that".

Re: Essex Skipper - Favourite Photo of 2011

I only have two pictures of this little butterfly so i chose this one out of the two. I found the little fellow roosting, but the light was rather poor for a decent photo, so i took one anyway for the record. I went back early the next morning [about 6.30] before work and he was still where i had le...

Re: Gatekeeper - Favourite Photo of 2011

I`m going to submit two pictures, one with wings closed, one with wings open. I really like the way the late afternoon sun hits the wings of the butterfly and totally changes the colouration of the background in the first photo. In the second photo i like the way the colour of the leafy background sh...

Re: Dark Green Fritillary - Favourite Photo of 2011

Thanks Lee, you`ve got a good memory. I actually took the two photo`s the following day, on the 3rd July. I had to photograph the male on the thistle from a distance, about 2m , because every time i tried to get up close it would fly off. It was also constantly moving whilst feeding so i was rather ...

Re: Dark Green Fritillary - Favourite Photo of 2011

These two pictures were taken near the triangle in Chiddingfold Wood. Everyone it seems were getting some nice photo`s of this beautiful insect, or at least seeing them throughout the wood except me. When its your patch, and visit it as often as one can it can become rather frustrating. After being ...

Re: Common Blue - Favourite Photo of 2011

Hi Lee, I saw the little beauty the day before and did`nt manage to get a picture. So i went back the following day to hunt her down, spent hours trying to get a photo, and when i finally get an opportunity, what happens, of all the flowers in all the world this little bug picks this one to walk acr...

Re: Common Blue - Favourite Photo of 2011

The first image is one of the last pictures i took with my Sigma 70-300 macro before i up-dated with a new lens. The picture was taken at the back of my garden on 31 st. May. Shutter speed 1/25, A.V. 18, ISO. 200, white balance, auto. The next two images were taken with a Sigma 150 macro, at Oaken W...
