Re: Camera Bodies

Hi Tom, i had the same question , 5d2 or 7d . after reading everything i could i eventually decided on the full frame, yes i admit missing the crop factor , but the image quality at all iso settings up to 1600 is superb! and easily usable up to 4000! i would not use if for wildlife, auto focus as me...

Common blue with double spots?

shot at grafton wood, presumed a brown argus when shot, quite small in size , but does appear to be a common blue but with doubled spots ? colour appears wrong also , thought might be old but wings in excelent condition! any thoughts? phil http://farm7.static.flickr.com/6001/6208300904_7214e8da05_b....

Re: Lens recommendations

I would recomend the canon 100mm macro, it is much easier to hand hold and get sharp shots compared to the heavy 150. its easy enough to get close to most butterflys and you will not need as high shutterspeed compared to the longer focal length to prevent motion blur!

Grafton wood Brown hairstreaks

i drove 269 miles down to grafton wood today, never seen a brown hairstreak before. after couple hours eventually found 5 females around the edges of the 2 fields just before the wood coming from the church carpark, the male was feeding on angelica on the central path running through the wood. no si...
