There were hundreds of Meadow Browns at Chimney Meadows, Oxon, when I visited it on 10th July. This female sat up very obligingly for a photo.

This is my best Grizzled Skipper photo to date. Taken at Aston Upthorpe, Oxon on 24th April.

I took this one at Whitecross Green Wood on 2nd July. The backlighting makes an attractive picture.

I took this very fresh male at Keyhaven in Hampshire on 17th July. Always such a cheerful butterfly!

I took this picture on Otmoor, Oxon on August 12th 2011. It was quite cloudy and this individual was just resting on a thistle.

This shot was taken in less than ideal conditions at Bernwood Meadows, Bucks, on June 5th 2011. It was cloudy and breezy, with spits of rain in the air. I found this individual at just the right height in a blackthorn bush.

I took this Adonis Blue photo at Pewsey Down in Wilts on 21st August. It was quite cloudy & breezy but in sheltered spots there was just enough sun for the males to sit with their wings open.

I found this aberrant Meadow Brown in Bowdown Wood (Berkshire) this afternoon. At first I thought it was just worn, but on closer inspection it had no orange on its forewings at all. David Hastings
