Dave, what spectacular shots of the dancing Brimstones. Nice reports of the Bedfordshire Dukes. I am hoping to visit those sites at the weekend.

Hi Wurzel,
Nice set of Small Tortoiseshell images. It's encouraging to have seen so many many reports recently, including here in sunny Suffolk.

Wood White Sites
Hi Everyone,
I am planning trips at the end of May to catch up with the last of the species I have not seen in the UK.
One of these is the Wood White.
I would grateful for assistance in the most reliable sites to visit.
Thank you in advance
Kind Regards
Kev Ling

Hi Wurzel, I always enjoy your report from Slop Bog. I just love that name. Your Silver Studded Blues are lovely. This such a delightful species to see in early summer.

Hockey Woods - Essex Rather late I know, but only now finding the time to process some of my summer photographs. A much overdue day out was planned in June and I was drawn between travelling to Norfolk to see Swallowtails, or Hockley Woods, Essex for Heath Fritillary. The 'Heaths' won the day and m...

Dave, Well I thought the male Holly Blues were good, but that the striking colours of that female are even better. Nice group shots of the CHB too. It’s nice to see butterflies in such large numbers together.

Glad to see you got some Hairstreaks Guy. Nice photos. Lovely detail in that Large White Pupa. A couple of years ago we grew some nasturtiums at the front of our house with the intention of this happening. We got lucky as one pupated on the wall outside our bedroom window. The other unfortunately pu...

Dave, playing a bit of catch up with diaries at the moment. Lovely set of Chalkhill Blues, especially that last female. The star for me though are those male Holly Blues, brilliant colour. Hoping to look for some Grayling this weekend myself. I love how they play hide and seek with their camouflage....

Cracking shots of the Lulworth Skippers Essex. My only visit to that area was one year in late May, so a little early for them.

What lovely images of those Adonis Blues. Perseverance paying off for sure. Reminds me of the technique used for Orange Tips too. Great looking female.

Guy, enjoyed your Spanish diary. As a lover of Orange Tips my favourite of course is the Desert OT. What a beautiful species. I was not aware they were a high summer species. Malaga certainly looks a nice place, another to go on my groaning ‘to do’ list.

Hi Wurzel. Enjoying your diaries again. Loving the DGF at Vernditch. Not a location I am familiar. I’ll add a
for those Large Blue shots at Daneway. This species is still on my list for the UK, having seen one in Chamonix a few years ago.
