Notes and Views - September 2018

Post by Vince Massimo »

A Peacock pupa was photographed in the wild at Mill Hill, Sussex on 16th September by David Cook, although credit also goes to Mark Jones for finding the pre-pupation larva.

It is very difficult to locate one of these in the wild at the best of times, but the find is doubly significant because it is from the rarer partial second brood. Reported on the Sussex BC website, but also summarised in a Personal Diary entry by Neil Hulme viewtopic.php?f=29&t=4065&start=3240#p137057
