Watching the Cricket

this creature appeared on my desk this morning ( in Cambridgeshire )

could anyone say what type of Cricket/Grasshopper it is ?

Looks like a male Speckled Bush Cricket Charles :)

No they're actually rather common :) , they're just normally better at putting their camouflage to use by lurking in the undergrowth!

Must admit, I've never seen one of these myself and though at first that it was some foreign 'invasive'.

That creature could field at either the long leg boundary or in the short leg position couldn`t it ?
