I can’t find a picture of this critter on the net and I’m not an expert in identification. I’m curious as to know what it is???

This is the caterpillar of the Miller moth Acronicta leporina. The members of this genus are noted for their striking larvae. Have a look at the Sycamore, the Alder moth and others.

It's also worth pointing out to be wary of any hairy caterpillar if you're not sure what it is. The hairs on some species can cause nasty skin irritation. Yellow and Brown-tailed moths and the Oak Procesionary in particular spring to mind.
Some addictions are good for the soul!
