Butterfly noise thanks

Thanks for the information.
I have looked again at the video that I took of the peacock.
I can see that as it moves it wings, presumably to try and frighten me off, the lower edge of the front wings overlap the rear and rub together.
The noise is more like that of a babies rattle shaken once.
Thanks again for taking the time to reply, I can bore all my friends with the video and appear to be clever using your explanation now.
