I am getting some larvae of heath fritillary and wondered if anybody has experience of breeding this butterfly in captivity?
I am planning to use ribwort plantain as a foodplant.

Hi Lance,

Heath Frit (and Glanville Frit, as it happens) are very easy to breed and the usual "basics" apply: use growing foodplant with the larvae kept outdoors.

In addition, Heath Frit are warmth-loving, so give them some sunlight during the day.

Cheers,

- Pete
