Large or Small White decline?

Is it true what I have been hearing about the decline of the Large and Small whites? They where once everywhere. Now seens less and less are appearing even though there is still alot.

Most species have declined, and their decline is well-documented in "The Millenium Atlas of Butterflies in Britain and Ireland" and the update "The State of Butterflies in Britain and Ireland". Both are shown under the "Books" link.
