2nd brood White Admiral ?

Post by Allan.W. »

Hello all,
Yesterday on a short visit to one of my local woods (Orlestone forest ,Kent), I was very surprised to see ,albeit briefly a fresh looking White Admiral, my latest by far, so I,m assuming
it,s part of a partial second brood, oddly I haven,t seen White Admirals in this section of Orlestone for a couple of years now, they do seem to have gone down in numbers here
anyone else had any sightings ? Regards Allan.W.

Hi Allan,
Nice one! must be a second brood. We had 3 or 4 second brood sightings in north-east Essex in 2014, the last being on 2nd October.
Although we had a late spring this year, July and August have been pretty warm and dry in the East.
regards
Rob
