This 'Small Pearl' posted yesterday on BC Lancashire sightings page. Small and Pearl are regularly on site - Warton Crag.
Checked everywhere but eyestrain now! No underwing photo unfortunately which would have been a doddle. Eagles today!! (FA Cup)
ID help greatly appreciated to verify thie first 2016 record.

Hi Tom - this is a Small Pearl-bordered. Take a look at the Similar Species section here:
http://www.ukbutterflies.co.uk/species. ... euphrosyne
![Pearl-bordered Fritillary - Small Pearl-bordered Fritillary - upperside.jpg (159.72 KiB) Viewed 233 times PBF on left, SPBF on right](./files/thumb_3_581d50cd051db08a09a5e2278c097bfc)
- PBF on left, SPBF on right
Cheers,
