Thanks
I am heading up for my annual pilgrimage on Tue 31st - so they should be in good numbers by then.

I hope the weather is kind to you, Roger. This part of the UK is beautiful beyond belief on those rare sunny, warm, wind-free days of late spring.

Indeed - in the past I have been very lucky with weather, and fortunately so, as I had very little time in Scotland due to work constraints.
However, this year I have little or no such problems - time is on my side!!
As well as the usual, reliable, sites, I am also going to have a look at some "possible" sites as well.
After the Chequered Skippers, I am popping over to Mull for a few days (are you still there Jack?)
On the way back I have a booked a landing on Bass Rock to photograph the gannets, and after that a trip to the Farne Islands for the terns and puffins and all the other good stuff on my way back south.

I'm in the area on Saturday - so will check it out...though the weather forecast isn't great! Monday looks alot better...so may be lucky on my way back down south!
I usually do Chequered Skippers a week or two later...but catching up with them tomorrow would save me a long drive!

Sounds fantastic, Roger. The only disappointment is that good ole' Jack has now moved to Nairn!

I hope you will share your experiences with us on here when you return. I'd very much like to see any images you take.

I am heading North in a couple of weeks and after a short stay at Arnside will be carrying on for a few days at Fort William when I plan to explore the surrounding area and hopefully see a Chequered Skipper or two which is the last resident species I have yet to see on the UK mainland list. Like Roger I am hoping to be able to have a look at some 'possible' sites as well as the well known ones, guess it will all depend on the weather.

Neil.
