Managed to find a few on our end of Nov cruise in Iberia. Lisbon botanic gardens had a few, Cadiz was very windy & found nothing. Dissapointed @ Gibralter to be told in our short visit shopping was more important than a visit to Alameda gdns where I knew I should find some. The little archaeological hill in Cartagena is a great short walk from the ship & now landscaped with lavender rosemary, found attached blues, painted ladies whites, clouded yellow (no photo) & various wasps bees etc. Madeira proved to be short of bf's in area I went to. I would like ID's confirmed please. Eric

Great pics Eric, the first 2 are Lang's short-tailed Blues as you said and sharp pics of the Speckled woods, not sure about the other blue without underside shot, could be another Lang's?

Yes, it's another Lang's. Nice to be reminded of butterflies ...

Many thanks for the ID's & comments. I was disappointed not to find more butterflies but did also see a Hummingbird Hawk-moth @ Cartagena that never stayed still enough for a photo + unidentified white bf that refused to present itself for a photo. Eric
