There were at least 6 confirmed Long-tailed Blue sightings in southern England in August and another was photographed at Dungeness, Kent on 1st September. Details are still awaited, but the initial report is here: viewtopic.php?t=8565&start=0#p103560

Another sighting of a male in Bognor Regis, Sussex on 5th September by Joseph and Duncan Reavey. Reported on Sussex BC website http://www.sussex-butterflies.org.uk/sightings.html with photos. Another (possibly the same individual) was seen the following day very nearby.

On 19th September two fresh females (one photographed) were seen at a site near Newhaven, Sussex by Neil Hulme and others, signalling the anticipated emergence of a new brood (as predicted). viewtopic.php?t=4065&start=2140#p104179

A second-brood Map has been reported in Norfolk. Seen at the entrance to Pentney Park caravan site (TF742141) on 28th September. The observer inquired at the park and a Dutch family in a camper van confirmed that they had found a black and white butterfly flying around their van the previous evening and had released it. So it seems that when confronted with anomalous records we need to consider camp sites as another possible source!
