Notes and Views - September 2015

There were at least 6 confirmed Long-tailed Blue sightings in southern England in August and another was photographed at Dungeness, Kent on 1st September. Details are still awaited, but the initial report is here: viewtopic.php?t=8565&start=0#p103560

Another sighting of a male in Bognor Regis, Sussex on 5th September by Joseph and Duncan Reavey. Reported on Sussex BC website http://www.sussex-butterflies.org.uk/sightings.html with photos. Another (possibly the same individual) was seen the following day very nearby.
A mating pair was photographed at an undisclosed site in Sussex by Neil Hulme and Butterflysaurus rex on 8th September. Reported on UKB personal diary entry viewtopic.php?f=29&t=7180&start=400#p103941

On 19th September two fresh females (one photographed) were seen at a site near Newhaven, Sussex by Neil Hulme and others, signalling the anticipated emergence of a new brood (as predicted). viewtopic.php?t=4065&start=2140#p104179
