On lavender in garden. Not totally dormant - it was making small movements. Length fully stretched circa 3.5 cms. Colour reasonably accurate in photo.

Looks very much like the larva of the moth "Angle Shades to me,which seems to be the first one I encounter in my garden each year.In fact I found one an hour ago in my Bay Laurel bush.
