Marbled white. Is this an aberration?

Post by eccles »

I took this in July this year and thought at the time that the pale colouration was typical of the female of the species. I've gone through the rest of my snaps and now I'm not so sure - it looks a bit too pale. The general condition is good. Is it an aberration do you think?

Regardless, Eccles, it's a cracking photo of a frustratingly mobile butterfly! I don't have a single 'keeper' of a marbled white!!

Thanks for the good words, Chris. They were very obliging that day, being so intent on nectaring from the knapweed that I was able to sit down by the flowers and wait for them to come to me.
