Many thanks to all who came along to the Fritillaries for the Future project events at Rewell Wood on Sunday 10.5.15. A total of 27 frit-fans attended the morning and afternoon sessions and we all got within a proboscis-length of at least one Pearl-bordered Fritillary. Thanks also to the Norfolk Estate for hosting events over the last two weekends.

... all got within a proboscis-length...
Is that coiled or uncoiled?

I'm reminded of the story of Darwin's Orchid moth - see http://www.theguardian.com/science/lost ... -evolution This distance can be a little further than one might think :)

Fascinating stuff MiKe :) Our scientific knowledge took a quantum leap forward thanks to Darwin (our greatest ever Briton in my book).

I believe the moth flower relationship was featured on a David Attenborough TV programme some time ago?
