In the latest Spring edition of BC’s “Butterfly” magazine is a fascinating picture entitled “Feathers fly” featuring a Great spotted Woodpecker and a Little Owl.
The picture was adjudged the winner of a contest “Wildlife with Wings”. It can be seen here:

(Click on that winner to see an enlarged version).

It would be most useful to see the picture un-cropped to show the habitat.
I have been unable to find any description as to how such a remarkable picture was achieved and that too would be very interesting.

It is a good pic and I felt sure that I had see the photographer's name before. In fact, he is quite a prolific freelance wildlife photographer.

According to the Daily Mail, that photo was captured by photographer Ian Schofield, 35, who was birdwatching at the Droitwich Spa reserve of the Worcestershire Wildlife Trust at the time. Also, according to London News Pictures, Ian can be contacted on 07989749791, so you could phone him and ask.
