Just spotted this on twitter about the Horrid Ground Weaver spider Nothophantes horridus https://www.buglife.org.uk/campaigns-an ... und-weaverwhich is incredibly rare and found in only two locations in the world - both old limestone quarries in the Plymouth area. There are plans to build 57 new houses on one of the sites and Buglife have on online petition to try and stop the development worth a click I think? https://you.38degrees.org.uk/petitions/ ... evelopment
Kind regards
Mark :D

Signed.

I must say that this creature does not have the most attractive name

Agreed. It's name certainly doesn't help its cause, but I have signed the petition nonetheless. Not only a UK endemic but a PLYMOUTH endemic!

I too have signed.

I have to say that 38 degrees does push some odd causes at times but this is one of the better.
