Might this be of any use to get in awkward places?

The reviews suggest that it might be, especially coupled with this:

All for a total of under £8

Assuming you mean to take pictures of butterflies, I rather doubt it. If you're using a phone (which you'd have to be for the remote button to work), then by the time it's on the end of a stick and pointing at your butterfly the screen probably wouldn't be pointing the right direction for you to frame the picture. And you wouldn't be able to control the focus point.

I have tried using a camera with an articulating screen, on the end of a monopod and a cable remote release. It would be pretty impossible to keep it steady enough for butterfly shots where the focus point is so critical.

I won't claim to be able to read Jack's inscrutable thought processes but I suspect he had group photos down the pub in mind, rather than inaccessible leps. :D

... mm ... or maybe not - I'm not sure now ...

I actually have no idea what I meant. The train of thought came from the South Korean ban on such devices:

Well I think it could be very useful, when trying to take photos of butterflies in brambles! Especially, perhaps, for one member who once said she 's a burlesque dancer and that the brambles play havoc with the fishnets
