A wonderful 4 minute video showing the life cycle of this species. Filmed entirely in the wild in France by VarWild.

Thanks go to Roger Gibbons for drawing it to our attention.

These Var Wild videos are breath-taking, informative and entertaining. The camera work is simply stunning, it is well put together and they obviously know their stuff. The habitat shots really put you in the picture. The capturing of the life cycle must have taken a great deal of time and effort, but it was well worth it. Prime time TV educational viewing!!!
Simply loved it.

Mike

That egg laying sequence is simply superb. Given that the footage is 'wild', I can only imagine the painstaking work involved in its preparation.

I salute those individuals who have put these films together. The results are breathtaking.
