Sony "lens cameras"

Has anyone had any experience with one of these 'clip on' lens cameras - http://www.amateurphotographer.co.uk/re ... -dsc-qx100 , for Smartphones, that Sony have been marketing recently?

A new one has just been announced, featuring 30x zoom: http://www.sony.co.uk/electronics/cyber ... s/dsc-qx30 and it looks quite interesting! The intriguing bit is that, whilst most of the product photos show the things clipped on to a phone, they can actually be remote from the smartphone... Imagine, one hand holding the lens close to an awkwardly sited 'fly, whilst the phone screen, showing the live camera output, can be right in front of your face!

I'd definitely decided to hold off getting a 'generation 1' device (e.g. the ones in the AP review), and, probably more pertinently, I don't have a decent smartphone (I'm of the "a phone's for making phone calls!" persuasion). But, this new device definitely looks tempting. Will certainly wait while it makes it's way into the market, and judge from the reviews whether it's worth considering...
