Hi,

After this years trip with Naturetrek I have been looking into another organised butterfly holiday with Naturetrek, greenwings and alike and a few that look interesting but the one that stood out was with Spatia Wildlife, specifically Butterflies and Macro Photography in Bulgaria. I was going to ask if anyone had been on one of these trips with them but then thought to maybe save costs that if anyone is arranging an independent trip themselves and needed someone to make up the numbers I may well be interested. So if you are please bare it in mind as I am not planning to commit to anything with a travel company for the next month or two. If so please send me a private message and we can discuss the matter.

Kind regards

Andy

Hi Andy
I would suggest taking a look at the British Bulgarian Society for butterfly trips to Bulgaria, They have at least two group trips per year but will also arrange a tailer made trip for anyone wishing to go on there own or in a small group. I thought their prices were pretty reasonable. The following link shows a trip report for our holiday there in 2012 with an excellent guide Assen Ignatov - http://www.ibirdz.co.uk/bulgaria/bulgaria2012.html
The trip was mainly for butterflies but Assen was also keen on birds and other wildlife and plenty was seen.
Hope this helps.

I completely agree with Paul - we used the BBFS when we went. Their website is at http://bulgariatours.co.uk - you need to have a chat with Annie Kay, who is extremely helpful! But she'll want to know when, how many, and what (roughly) you're looking to see.

Cheers,

- Pete
