Hi Kenny

Very difficult to tell between males and females in many nymphalid species especially Comma. Females often have a more swollen abdomen than males but a side by side comparison may be required for this. Behaviour also varies and males are probably more agressive defending territory from favoured leaves or twigs.
I wouldn't like to say whether your photos are males or females. Hope someone else has more information for you.

I'd say it was a female. Slightly less jagged outline to the wings than in the male, and a heavy looking abdomen in you underside shot.

If it helps it flew around and came back to the same area lots. Male protecting area?
