A short film featuring some of the highlights of my recent trip to the French Alps is now on youtube - footage of Camberwell Beauty, Swallowtail and Queen of Spain Fritillary, among others, plus some spectacular scenery. If you take the time to view, I hope you enjoy it. http://youtu.be/TAbKYiBk5-Y

thank you for posting your interesting film David. i enjoyed following your Alpine adventure ! Lovely shots of so many species :)

i have never seen a Camberwell Beauty in the wild... i shall keep an eye out when i go to France next month. I have used the Shadow Trick successfully on Purple Emperors at Fermyn Wood... they always fall for it.

Thanks Charles. With a bit of luck you might get some nice, fresh, newly-emerged Camberwell Beauties rather than the tatty, over-wintered specimens that I saw. They seemed quite common in the Alps and I saw them on most days of the holiday. What part of France are you visiting?
