Hi,

I found this chap on top of the moors near Winter Hill, Lancashire and I can't find anything that looks quite like him on the site. He was about 2 inches long when straightened out. Any idea as to what he is?

Thanks,
Robin

Could be a Fox moth larva:

If it was taken recently, it could be an Oak Eggar. I saw a couple final instar cats about 3 or 4 weeks ago in Essex.
