Plant taxonomy

Hi all,

Does anyone know the appropriate "authority" to use when it comes to plants (just as we have Agassiz for Lepidoptera)? [Agassiz = Agassiz, D.J.L., Beavan, S.D. and Heckford, R.J.: Checklist of the Lepidoptera of the British Isles. 2013.]

I'm trying to find a taxonomic listing of all plants so that I can do some correlation in relation to UK Lepidoptera (actually, butterflies, of course!). I realise that any listing will be huge, but I'd still like to see it. Thx!

Cheers,

- Pete

As far as I know, the BSBI uses Stace - New Flora of the British Isles, 3rd Edition.

I believe that Kew is the 'authority' for plant names, together with other similar institutions around the world. See http://www.theplantlist.org/ for comprehensive listings of the plant kingdom.

Thanks both - I've just ordered Stace ... looks perfect for my needs!
