Hello one and all, i joined this fantastic blog last year and just worked out how to use it 
Never one to miss a party i am now glad i can join you all
I live in Bristol so am able to cover most places being close to motorway links etc...
Primarilly being a bird watcher i have a great fondness for butterflies and moths ....
I have a small local butterfly patch coombe brook valley (holly lodge) that i watch at least weekly.
I have noticed in your diaries that some of you keep an on-going tally of bf's seen in 2014. so heres mine-
1. Red Admiral 11/1 Bristol
2 .Peacock 14/1 Bristol
3. Comma 24/2 Warks (whilst twitching Humes yb Warbler)
4. Small Tort 25/2 Norfolk
5. Brimstone 9/3 Bristol
6. Speckled Wood 8/4 Dorset
7. Orange Tip 9/4 Holly Lodge
8. Small White 9/4 Holly Lodge
9. Green Hairstreak 13/4 Glos
10. Holly Blue 14/4 Holly Lodge (also in my garden)
11. Grizzled Skipper 21/4 Glos
12. Large White 28/4 Holly Lodge
13. Green v White 28/4 Holly Lodge
14. Dingy Skipper 4/5 Glos
15. Duke of Burgundy 4/5 Glos
16. Pearl B Fritillary 5/5 Wilts
