if I'm not I would be grateful for some assistance with the two critters in the pictures please?

Being a beginner at this I don't really know where Butterflies, Moths &c. begin and end!

Do the two critters in the pictures qualify as Moths or something else please? They were seen earlier today on the Erith Marshes.

As always, a million thanks in advance ~ Mike …..

Stay as long as you want - your enthusiasm is very welcome!

They are both moths. The first is Nemophora degeerella (http://www.ukmoths.org.uk/show.php?id=6218) but I don't know the second - some kind of Tortrix.

Guy,

Thanks. I'm thinking it's a male Nemophora degeerella viz. the long antennae.

The second critter puts me in mind of a stealth fighter!

Mike ….

PS … thanks for the kind words of encouragement ...
