Great pictures, Eric! I especially like that last one.
The apical spotting of the female is very variable and can be quite complete or restricted to very few, as in your first pictures. I don't know if there is any significance to this.

Eric, are those nectaring Clouded Yellows holding their wings part open naturally or have you just 'captured' them briefly whilst in motion?

Hi Eric,
Great photos. Getting open wing shots of crocea is rare. What's your secret ?

David - Yes they were in motion
Chris, - Just use my fz150 & the female helice, I see was on macro setting full zoom & camera decided on 1/1600 sec. The female CY & last shot with two, was on the speed setting @ 1/1000 sec. Checking those details surprised me that the macro setting came out much faster than I have the speed setting set at. I also use a 2nd fz150 with a Sony TC permanently attached for mainly birding & that is usually kept on speed setting @ 1/1000 sec for birding

Wow Eric,
I have a FZ150 and am far from mastering it like you.
I look forward to your next posts.
Chris.
