Week 4.

Here is the opportunity to post your favourite photo(s) of a particular species taken in 2013 (or the last time you saw one!).

This is part of a series of topics which will grow over 20 weeks throughout the winter, eventually covering all 59 species which are regularly found in the British Isles. The intention is to showcase three species per week (in alphabetical order), so please wait until a topic has been opened by me for a particular species before posting photos. Our overseas members are very welcome to fill in the obvious gaps relating to rare UK migrants.

Details of locations, dates, times and circumstances would be welcome and please feel free to contribute observations of behaviour, stories of personal encounters, anecdotes or other interesting points.

Vince

I don't suppose we'll get many photos for this species, so here's my 2p worth :)

I think you're right there, Pete! :)

Still, I doubt any of the rest of us could have eclipsed the images you posted earlier in the year of this species.

I,like many others no doubt, have never seen this species, and i would love to!

The problem for me is the cost, and also they fly at the same time as so many important species, which i seek, such as SPBF and Marsh Frit in Cornwall and Chequered Skipper in Scotland.

But i will get there-eventually!

I'm sure you will Mark! Getting to see everything I've wanted to see has taken years - and shows no sign of stopping as I've gotten into immature stages and subspecies/forms. A steady trickle of funds from the bank account is the only way :D

Cheers,

- Pete

You're right of course,Pete! I just need to be patient.

This is the last of the British species for me to see, though,so i feel a trip over to Northern Ireland should be a priority.

Congrats on a great set of images,by the way... :)
