Excellent news (and quite right that they aren't giving the precise location).

Would that be the furthest known northern colony?

The Brown Hairstreak has arrived mysteriously in north Lancashire with adults seen in 2015 (apparently also in 2013 though not confirmed), eggs found subsequently.

There was one recorded up on Arnside last year (or was it Gaits Barrow, I can't remember)

It was Gait Barrows. There's also another site nearby.

Hi! Laura, it's one Butterfly I've not seen yet but I'm definitely going up to GB in August to look for it, hope fully I'll get to see it.
I live only an hour a way and visit every year twice are three times also Arnside, Gait Barrow is quite big and the trails up hill at times so it will take us a while to sort out where about they've been seen, hope fully I'll see other's looking for them has well. Goldie :D
