Small yellow butterfly ID

Post by andy_j »

Sorry no photo but saw a small, yellow butterfly today. It was the size of a common blue and the colour of a brimstone. Pretty sure it was a butterfly rather than a moth by its flight pattern. This was in a garden in Brighton.

Any ideas ?

Hi Andy,

This could have been a Brimstone moth. I had one in my garden a few days ago and they do look like butterflies in flight rather than moths. http://www.ukmoths.org.uk/show.php?id=14
