Our next hike was a little more leisurely. From the small village of Le Tour, near Argentiere, we took a chairlift up to the Col De Balme, a mountainside meadow at 2100m.

There were fewer variety of species here than expected, but with a dense population of Bilberry, large numbers of Moorland Clouded Yellows were present, with both male and females seen.
Sharing the meadow with the yellows were large numbers of browns, including Blind Ringlet, Arran Brown and Meadow Brown, together with the following three blues. I think the first one is a Cranberry Blue, but not sure about the following two.
Finally a couple of Fritillaries that I am unsure of. The first one seemed to resemble a Grissons, but think I may need some help please.
