Spurge Hawkmoth pupa

Post by Trik »

I was given a Spurge Hawk caterpillar last October. It ate really well and then successfully pupated. It was kept in the fridge until just over 8 weeks ago, when I brought it out to re-activate it. It is placed on top of damp soil and I spray it with water twice a day. It still wriggles now and again, so it is alive, but it hasn`t emerged yet, and 8 weeks seems an excessively long time. How long should I leave it until I resign myself to something being wrong and give up waiting, please?

Many thanks

I`ve just realised that I have posted a query about a moth in a butterflies forum. Sorry about that! Still, someone may have an answer for me...
