Hi UKB'ers,
I hope you all had successful lepidopteric weekends!
I bagged 2 lifers on the mobile this weekend and couldn't believe my luck! :D :D
The first was a Clouded Yellow at Aston Rowant, which topped off an amazing 90 minutes there.
I have never seen so many butterflies and racked up 15 species, including a rare aberrant, according to SussexKipper, which I will post later on.......

The next day I went to Steyning and drove through Biblical rain showers which wasn't quite enough to put me off! Persistence paid off and as I reached the fields, the sun came out. I did eventually find my quarry, along with SussexKipper and 3 other enthusiasts. We all took turns to take some shots and I punched the air due to my excitement, having stepped away whereupon the BHS duly took off and disappeared into the blackthorn;   I have no doubt that she and some relatives returned, but as I was under the cosh to back at home for the family lunch, I scooted back to the car feeling rather embarrassed!

I also saw a Painted Lady as I headed back to the car.
What a weekend!!!
Flutter on!
