Warren Heath - North East Hampshire

Post by ABerryman »

A superb site in NE Hants. Famed for its odonata (21 Species seen today including 5 Brilliant Emerald!) however turns out it ain't bad for butterflies either. Highlights today:

30 Marbled Whites (a very scarce species locally, this being the only sustainable population in hart valley.

250+ Skipper sp including a number of Essex

5 Dark Green Fritillary (only ones in NE Hampshire as far as I'm aware)

1 Purple Emperor

20+ White Admirals

4 Grayling

Definitely a site that deserves further exploration
