Very restless, hovering over flower rather than landing. Vibrating wngs in manner of Humming Bird Hawkmoth. Probably a type of bee but not sure.

Glengorm garden nursery, Isle of Mull. Very difficult to photograph due to constant activity.

This wasp had been busy.

..nice find Jack and well spotted.
The credit for the first find has to go to my wife Stella. She saw a “strange yellow bee” when we were in Glen More the previous day.
When she saw my photos , immediately: “That was it.”

The two localities where seen, Glengorm and Glen More are almost 40 kilometres apart with the substantial Ben More mountains (950 metres+) between the two places suggesting that the moth might be widespread on Mull, albeit at low density.

Thanks for the i/d. Having now looked in my moth books, you are certainly correct.
