River Bank Caterpillar

Anybody know the identity of this one? I felt something crawling down the neck of my shirt while fishing on the River Wharfe today, and this was the culprit!

Not sure but I would hazard a guess it's not a moth larva

Not sure, but the general look of the body and the way the head stands off reminds me of a sawfly larvae Dave.

... but there again, I've never seen a skipper caterpillar. Sounds similar, could be?

Fear not, it was spared the ignominy of being used as bait, though if it was only a sawfly, I might have been tempted.
I found a picture of a Large Skipper caterpillar in one of my books and there is a striking similarity. However, further opinions would be more than welcome.
