I was trawling flickr and came across this picture of a marbled white and meadow brown in cop. posted it in case it was of interest

Intriguing. I note that the text accompanying the photo states (Google translation): "According to David Demerges CREN MP, this observation of interspecific mating Jurtina / Galathea) has already been noted in the southern Haute Garonne (published in Oreina), but this is rare, although it could not be unusual." Perhaps some French members might know more about this?

I'm finding it hard to reconcile myself with such a pairing.

It just doesn't seem 'right'.
