Wrecclesham, Farnham, Surrey.

As of Tuesday 4th June, no Glanville Fritillaries, appear to be out. Whilst most species are late after a cold spring, I am hoping that the disturbance at the site hasn't adversely affected the emergence of Surrey's little gem.

I made a thorough search on Tuesday, but no sightings. Common Blues and Green Hairstreaks were plentiful.

Perhaps some were seen today, Wednesday 5th June.

Despite the destruction - digging and bulldozing - (it is a working area of course) - plenty of ideal habitat remains.

Any day now, here's hoping.

Good lord, looks like 2013 could see this butterfly flying well into July!!

Any word from Sand Point and the Glanvilles there? Combining a trip to there and Collard Hill might work well this year.

I fancy Glanvilles will be out by this weekend at Sand Point but when will Large Blues emerge? I reckon this could be one for midsummer weekend!
