One for Padfield

Not butterfly related, but someone sent me this link the other day and although it takes a little while to load, I thought it was well worth sharing. Ever thought about what is far out in space or really far into the microscopic world. This link lets you "virtually" travel through space to find out. Once you've zoomed out (how tall would every human on the planet be standing on top of each other!) try going smaller. Clicking on any object will give you info about it. Kept me amused for ages :)

Thanks Trev! :D You're right - it certainly is an excellent resource for teaching physics and maths. I can imagine using it to introduce standard form, for example. Powers of ten are put beautifully into perspective, in the context of our incomprehensibly wonderful universe.

And I'm sure I'm not the only one on these forums who will enjoy zooming in and out ...

That's a great weblink that. Thanks for posting it. I've spent an interesting half hour working my way through it (from the inconceivably small to the incomprehensibly big).
